The CW Teases Riverdale's 'Heathers'-Inspired Musical Episode

After the success of Riverdale’s musical episode last season based on Carrie: The Musical, the CW series will be honoring yet another iconic teen movie this year: Heathers: The Musical.

The episode, titled “Chapter Fifty-One: Big Fun,” references a song from the movie. On March 19th, the CW released a poster for the musical, featuring Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) as Heather McNamara, Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) as Heather Chandler, Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) as Heather Duke, and Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) as Veronica Sawyer.

As we saw with last season’s musical episode, the Carrie production reflected much of what the Riverdale characters were experiencing in their lives at the moment. With all the drama that happened in last week’s episode, it seems that this year will be the same.

“She’s going through a lot and I think this is a great way to channel her inner rage,” Madelaine Petsch says of her character, Cheryl Blossom.

We get a sneak peek of Cheryl as the HBIC, Heather Chandler, in the clip below.
