Last night for Brazil, early morning for us, team GB have done us proud once again! Our Olympic swim team definitely haven’t disappointed us so far and last night was so exception.
Siobhan-Marie O’Connor grabbed a silver in the women’s Olympic 200m individual medley. She is the first British woman to win a medal in this swim as she got the British record of 2:06.88. We’re all very proud of her. It’s great to see team GB and how well we’ve been doing in the pool!
Following such a terrific victory, the men’s 4x200m relay team also got a silver! As well as getting that silver, they managed to slice more than a second off of the record they set when they won the World Championship in 2015. Although he finished forth in the individual 200m freestyle, James Guy brought the team to victory last night in 7:03.13.
Team GB now have four medals over in the pool. This is the best they’ve had since the LA games in 1984 where they got one silver and four bronze.
Well done Team GB!
