Drag Race UK fans relieved as Lawrence Chaney saved from elimination after opening up on bullying

Drag Race UK fans breathed a sigh of relief after Scots contestant Lawrence Chaney was saved from elimination after a nail-biting lip sync battle during an emotional episode.

The Glasgow drag queen is the current front runner in the competition and has wowed judges with her fabulous Scotland-themed outfits - and climbed the charts with number one single 'UK, Hun?'.

But Lawrence, who is tipped to be crowned the winner of the show, had to fight for her place in the competition after failing to impress the judges with her Snatch Game attempt.

The Scots queen chose to impersonate Harry Potter actress Miriam Margolyes in the challenge - but judges complained her decision fell flat as she 'missed a trick'.

During the emotional episode, the Scots queen broke down in tears as she revealed she had used humour to cope with bullying as a 'bigger kid'.

Following the judges' critique, Lawrence said: "I'm very emotional. When I was younger, a bigger kid, I was made fun of for everything under the sun. Kids are a*******s.

"Being funny was the only thing I could punch back at people with.

"You get so annoyed when you're meant to be good at something and it isn't going your way."

Lawrence was forced to go head-to-head in the Lip Sync for Your Life to 'Touch Me' by Cathy Dennis - but it was Tia Kofi who was voted off by the judges and sashayed away.

When asked how she was feeling, the Glasgow queen replied with the famous Scottish chant: "here we, here we, here we f*****g go!"

Following the tense elimination, fans were relieved Lawrence Chaney was saved, with some saying it was 'traumatic'.

One wrote on Twitter: "Better not put me through that ever again. Am warning you hen."

Another commented: "Can you not scare me like that again please babe."

A third penned: "Well that was traumatic. Well done Lawrence Chaney you did it hun."

Fans even took to social media to as why she failed to dress up as a Scottish icon, with some suggesting Nicola Sturgeon, Lewis Capaldi or Michelle McManus.

One wrote: "why didn’t lawrence chaney just do an easy character like lorraine or nicola sturgeon."

Another commented: "@ShadyLawrence should’ve done Jimmy crankie #dragraceuk"
